ARLINGTON, Texas -- Contracts have certainly been on the brains of Rangers fans the last few weeks as the club tried to lure Cliff Lee to Arlington with some big-money offers. One thing was clear: The Rangers were aggressive in trying to land the top free-agent pitcher on the market.
So what could that mean for the top hitter on the market? Josh Hamilton could find out soon if the Rangers decide to engage in talks about extending his contract.
"It really sent a good message to our players to see them go after him the way they did," Hamilton said.
But Hamilton said he hasn't thought much about a new contract.
"What's supposed to happen will happen," Hamilton said. "I'm arbitration eligible. That's all I know."
