The Rangers announced that Zach Jackson and Erold Andrus were signed to minor league deals.
Jackson, a lefty, will receive an invitation to major league spring training. The 27-year-old was in Triple-A with the Toronto organization last season and was 2-3 with a 5.64 ERA in 35 games (5 starts). He has 22 games (17 starts) in his major league career and was 4-5 with a 5.81 ERA (Milwaukee, 2006-08 and Cleveland 2008-09). Jackson joins seven other non-roster invitees to big league camp: INF Brian Barden, C Kevin Cash, OF Endy Chavez, OF Doug Deeds, INF Esteban German, RHP Seth McClung, and RHP Ryan Tucker.
Andrus, the older brother of Elvis, will be in minor league camp. He hasn't played since 2009, when he hit .302 with nine homers and 48 RBIs in 90 games for Florence of the Frontier League (independent).
