John Rhadigan is Rangers' new TV voice

The Rangers will introduce veteran sportscaster John Rhadigan of Fox Sports Southwest as the club's television play-by-play voice this afternoon at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington. It's a multi-year deal.

Rhadigan will join Tom Grieve on the broadcast, replacing Josh Lewin.

"John has a strong knowledge of the Rangers through the many years he has covered the club," Rangers president Nolan Ryan said in a release. "He has demonstrated his creativity and personality through the many features he has done with our players. I look forward to watching John and Tom on the telecasts this season."

Rhadigan has been a fixture on FSSW for the last decade, serving as the network's lead anchor for Rangers pregame and postgame shows. He has also co-hosted and contributed to FSSW's weekly magazine show and traveled with the club for features and in-game reports.

The native of Brighton, Mich., came to FSSW from Dallas NBC affiliate KXAS, where he had been a sports reporter and weekend sports anchor since 1990. He is a graduate of Oakland University in Michigan.

Rhadigan will join the Rangers for full-time duties beginning in March.

Lewin, whose contract was not renewed following the 2010 season, had been the Rangers' play-by-play announcer since 2002.
