Opening Day starter C.J. Wilson, who won a team-high 15 games in 2010 in his first major league season as a starter, said Friday that negotiations between his agent and the Rangers on a multi-year contract haven’t “progressed that far.”
“It’s a very complicated situation,” Wilson told the Ben & Skin Show on ESPN 103.3 FM. “It’s not easy because I’m on the only guy on the team. There are a lot of different guys that they have to make big personnel decisions with. We’re all related in that way. They’ve been trying. They’ve been coming to the table. But it really hasn’t progressed that far.”
Wilson becomes a free agent after the 2011 season.
