ARLINGTON, Texas -- Rangers closer Neftali Feliz reported no arm issues today following a ninth-inning save in Saturday’s 7-5 win over the Yankees.
It was Feliz’s first appearance since coming off the 15-day DL for inflammation in his right shoulder.
“I felt good,’’ Feliz said. “I didn’t try to overthrow, I just concentrated on keeping the ball down.’’
The save was his sixth of the season. It extended his conversion streak to 17 straight regular-season save chances, the longest active streak in the majors.
The club record is 25 by John Wetteland in 1997-98.
While many hitters will use a pink bat in honor of Mother’s Day, Feliz was sporting a pink elastic sleeve on his pitching arm in the clubhouse.
