As expected, Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton will begin a rehab assignment tonight in Double-A Frisco.
He returned to Texas last night and had a CT scan. The scan showed significant improvement and Hamilton was cleared by Rangers physician Dr. Keith Meister to play. Hamilton, who suffered a hairline fracture in a bone in his upper arm on April 12, is expected to be the designated hitter tonight and Thursday in Frisco. He would then head to Triple-A Round Rock to continue his rehab.
So we should have Hamilton and Nelson Cruz in the lineup tonight. Check back here on the Rangers blog for an update on how they are doing.
