ARLINGTON, Texas -- Before Tuesday's game with the White Sox, three Rangers -- Darren Oliver, Arthur Rhodes and David Murphy -- were in front of the dugout acting in an in-house commerical to air soon.
"It was B acting, basically," Murphy said. "The theme is that I was making a bunch of diving plays and diving on bluebonnets and got a ticket for it."
Two Texas state park rangers are in the ad talking to Murphy and giving him the ticket. Murphy joked that it wasn't too difficult since he didn't actually have a speaking part. Those portions belonged to Darren Oliver and Arthur Rhodes. Oliver said he's the better actor.
"I had more parts than Arthur," Oliver said.
Oliver talks about how bluebonnets are the state flower of Texas and that it's illegal to pick them or crush them.
"It was fun to do," Murphy said. "I can't wait to see how it turned out."
