HOUSTON -- The Rangers got a slew of players selected to a couple of minor league all-star games today.
Chris Davis, tied for fourth in the Pacific Coast League with 19 home runs for Round Rock, was selected as a reserve for the Triple-A All Star game. Third baseman Brian Barden was named a starter. Barden is hitting .360, good for sixth in the PCL, with seven home runs and 38 RBIs.
The Triple-A All-Star Game is July 13 at Spring Mobile Ballpark in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Also, Cuban import Leonys Martin was selected to the Double-A All-Star Game. Martin, who signed a five-year $15.5 million deal with the Rangers, is going with standout left handed starter Martin Perez. DH Mike Bianucci and Martin were selected as starters.
