HOUSTON -- Thursday is a busy day for several players recovering from injuries.
Catcher/first baseman Mike Napoli (oblique muscle) will begin a four-day rehab start at Triple-A Round Rock on Thursday. Napoli will catch and might play all nine innings depending on how he feels.
Napoli then would play first base Friday, catch Saturday and DH Sunday before getting activated from the DL, barring any setbacks.
Right-hander, Scott Feldman (knee) is scheduled to pitch seven innings at Round Rock on Thursday. Reliever Darren O'Day (hip) pitched 1 1/3 scoreless innings, getting two strikeouts on Tuesday night. O'Day has pitched 4 1/3 scoreless innings at Round Rock with right-handed hitters going .091 against him.
"All of them in rehab are close," Rangers manager Ron Washington said.
Washington said the front office hasn't had any discussions regarding O'Day's possible return. He's been on the DL since April 27 and was eligible to come off the list last Sunday.
"It's not going to happen while we're here," Washington said regarding O'Day's return during the series in Houston. Washington later added, "Each time he takes the mound he's getting better."
Also, Brandon Webb (shoulder) is scheduled to make another rehab start Friday for Round Rock.
