ARLINGTON, Texas -- The Rangers activated Mike Napoli (strained left oblique) from the disabled list Monday and optioned catcher Taylor Teagarden to Triple-A Round Rock.
Napoli tore it up at the plate during his four-game rehab assignment in Round Rock, hitting.267 with nine RBIs and three home runs, including a walk off three-run shot in his last rehab game Sunday.
Before going on the DL, Napoli was batting .221 with 10 home runs and 25 RBIs. He leads Rangers catchers in ERA while behind the plate at 2.97.
Napoli was put on the DL June 12.
Teagarden matched his career high in hits in a game during his most recent stint in the majors, with three against the Marlins Friday. He's batting .269 with two doubles and two RBIs in the nine games he's played with the Rangers in 2011.
