Kirkman recalled after Express' elimination

ARLINGTON -- The Rangers on Sunday recalled 24-year-old left-handed pitcher Michael Kirkman following Triple-A Round Rock’s elimination from the Pacific Coast League playoffs.

“He gives us another arm and some length,’’ said Rangers manager Ron Washington.

Kirkman, the PCL pitcher of the year in 2010, appeared in 14 games for the big club last year and had a 1.65 ERA in 16.1 innings.

In a prior recall this season, Kirkman went 1-1 with a 7.33 ERA in 23.1 innings.
