Rangers will face the Rays in the ALDS

ANAHEIM, Calif. -- A dramatic turn of events in the span of maybe five minutes on Wednesday night means the Rangers will face the Rays in the ALDS at 4:07 p.m. Friday.

Evan Longoria's walk-off homer in the 12th, just moments after Baltimore scored two in the bottom of the ninth to beat the Red Sox, means that Tampa will head to Texas for the first round.

We'll keep you updated once we know the pitching matchups and who might face C.J. Wilson in Game 1. But it means that Game 3 (and 4, if necessary) will be in Tampa on Monday and Tuesday. A Game 5, if necessary, would be played in Arlington next Thursday.
