Lewis (14-10. 4.40 ERA): He's making his fifth career postseason start, but his first one on the road. All four of his starts in 2010 came at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington and he was 3-0 with a 1.71 ERA. ... The only start he didn't get a win in was against the Rays in Game 3 of the ALDS. He pitched five scoreless innings, but the Rangers lost, 6-3. ... Lewis has never lost to Tampa Bay and has 13 scoreless innings in two starts against them since returning from Japan prior to the 2010 season. ... His only outing this season against Tampa Bay came at Tropicana Field on June 1. Lewis gave up no runs on four hits in eight innings. ... He was a much better pitcher on the road this season, posting a 3.43 ERA and a 9-5 record as opposed to a 5.54 ERA and a 5-5 mark at home.
Price (12-13, 3.49 ERA): The 26-year-old was the club's Opening Day starter in 2011 and made a team-high 34 starts overall. ...This will be his third postseason start -- all of them against the Rangers. He was 0-2 with a 4.97 ERA in his two 2010 starts, including a loss in Game 5 of the ALDS in Tropicana Field, when Cliff Lee pitched a complete game as the Rangers won the franchise's first playoff series. ... Was selected to the AL All-Star team by Rangers manager Ron Washington in 2011, but did not pitch because of a turf toe injury. ... Established career-highs in innings pitched (224 1/3) and strikeouts (218). ... He had a losing record despite a 3.49 ERA. Only two qualifying AL pitchers had a losing record with a lower ERA: Doug Fister (2.83 ERA, 11-13 with Seattle and Detroit) and Ervin Santana (3.38, 11-12 with LAA). ... The Rays scored three runs or less in 15 of his 34 starts. ... Held lefties to a .171 average, the lowest among big league starters in 2010. ... Had allowed only one homer to a lefty going into the season, but has given up five homers to lefties in 2011, including four of his last 12 starts.
