Colby Lewis to start Game 2

ST. LOUIS -- Rangers manager Ron Washington also announced on Tuesday that Colby Lewis will start Game 2 in Busch Stadium, which means he would be in line to start Game 6, also on the road.

“He’s ready to go,” Washington said of Lewis. “I didn’t want to push him back too much further. It’s been a while since he’s pitched.”

Washington said the fact that it was on the road didn’t factor into the decision, but Lewis’ road ERA (3.43) was more than two runs lower than his home one (5.54).

Washington said the club hasn’t determined yet if Matt Harrison or Derek Holland will pitch Game 3, but Washington indicated it had been a while since Harrison had pitched.

“We certainly don’t want to be sitting on him,” Washington said.

Both Holland and Harrison will be available in the bullpen for Game 1.
