Rangers lineup: Nelson Cruz bats sixth

ST. LOUIS -- Rangers manager Ron Washington has decided to move Nelson Cruz up the batting order to sixth, with Mike Napoli hitting seventh. Michael Young is playing first base, as expected, in the National League park, meaning Mitch Moreland would be available off the bench later in the game if needed.

Washington said on Tuesday that it was a "possibility" that Cruz would get a higher spot in the order. Cruz became the first player in history to hit six homers and collect 13 RBIs in the same postseason series, doing so in the Rangers' six-game win over the Detroit Tigers in the AL Championship Series.

With the pitcher batting ninth, moving Cruz up makes it tougher to pitch around him, especially with Napoli behind him. Napoli batted .292 in the ALCS and is hitting .316 in the postseason overall.
