Cardinals get three runs right back

ARLINGTON, Texas – This was a pretty bad time for Scott Feldman’s first poor performance of the postseason.

After the Rangers scored three runs in the bottom of the fourth, Feldman gave them right back in the top of the fifth.

Feldman had pitched 10 1/3 shutout innings over five appearances in the postseason entering tonight. But he allowed the first three batters of the inning to reach base, following up an Albert Pujols single with walks to Matt Holliday and Lance Berkman.

Pujols scored on a groundout. Yadier Molina drove in Holliday and Berkman with a line-drive double down the left-field line.

Just like that, the Cardinals had a five-run lead again.

If the Rangers are going to win this game, it’s going to have to be the old-fashioned way – with a score that looks like a slow-pitch softball game.
