Rangers give Holland early 1-0 lead

ARLINGTON, Texas -- Derek Holland led the majors in run support this season at 7.64 per game, and right away got a run from his teammates in Game 4.

After Holland pitched a 1-2-3 first inning, mixing his off-speed stuff well with good fastball command, the Rangers got a one-out single from Elvis Andrus and a double down the right-field line by Josh Hamilton. Cardinals starter Edwin Jackson threw Hamilton a changeup, and Hamilton was able to pull it down the line to score Andrus.

The Rangers ended up loading the bases, but David Murphy hit a first-pitch fly ball to left-center to end the inning.
