Rangers strike for 3 in 7th, lead 7-4

ST. LOUIS -- Adrian Beltre and Nelson Cruz hit back-to-back home runs off Lance Lynn to quickly put the Rangers ahead 6-4 in the top of the seventh after the Cardinals tied it in the bottom of the sixth but left the bases loaded.

The Rangers weren't finished.

David Murphy singled but was thrown out on Derek Holland's failed sacrifice bunt. But Holland advanced to second on a wild pitch, and Ian Kinsler delivered a sharp single up the middle that scored the hustling Holland for a three-run margin.

Holland then pitched a 1-2-3 bottom half of the inning. He closed down the sixth inning when he got the final out in relief of Alexi Ogando with the bases loaded and two outs.
