Rangers expected to sign C Dusty Brown

The Rangers are expected to sign catcher Dusty Brown to a minor league deal to give the club some more catching depth.

With Taylor Teagarden shipped to Baltimore in a trade on Thursday, the organization needed someone else with some major league experience in Triple-A Round Rock.

Brown, 29, has 43 at-bats in the majors for Boston and Pittsburgh (hitting .163) with a homer and three RBIs. He was in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization last year and batted .285 with seven homers and 28 RBIs in 54 games.
