Surprise Six: Rangers like '90s Cowboys

SURPRISE, Ariz. -- Jean-Jacques Taylor thinks these Rangers and the Cowboys of the early 90s have something in common. That and more in Monday's Surprise Six:

1. Taylor said the comparison would be obvious if the Rangers ever win a World Series. But the Rangers are perennial contenders with a cast of All-Stars and personalities like the Cowboys of the early '90s.

2. Yu Darvish will make his second Cactus League start Tuesday. Manager Ron Washington announced Tuesday that Darvish will make his third start March 19 against the Milwaukee Brewers.

3. Matt Harrison pitched three solid innings against the Seattle Mariners on Monday. Joe Nathan struggled in his inning of work.

4. Ian Kinsler and Mike Napoli were once again held out of the lineup as a precaution. Greg Miclat started at second base and catcher Yorvit Torrealba was behind the plate.

5. Bryan Dolgin spoke to assistant general manager Thad Levine about the Rangers' less-noted offseason acquisitions.

6. Mitch Moreland put in plenty of work on his swing Sunday. He played in Sunday's A and B games and finished a combined 5-for-5.
