Surprise Six: Josh Hamilton jams heel

SURPRISE, Ariz. -- Josh Hamilton jammed his right heel in the second inning against the Colorado Rockies. Here's six things to take away from Surprise Wednesday:

1. Hamilton left the game and is listed as day-to-day. Manager Ron Washington will leave it up to the trainers on how to handle Hamilton's injury. Outfielder Craig Gentry is also out 3-5 days with a sprained left wrist. There was no break revealed in his wrist following a fluoroscan.

2. Pitcher Neftali Feliz felt comfortable on the mound Wednesday. He allowed a run on four hits in three innings against the Rockies. Jean-Jacques Taylor says Feliz must execute his secondary pitches in order to excel as a starter.

3. Few teams ran the bases better than the Rangers last season.

4. Washington jumped on ESPN Dallas 103.3 FM's Ben & Skin show this morning and talked about a variety of topics.

5. Washington has been impressed with pitcher Robbie Ross. He hasn't allowed a run in four innings of work.

6. Pitcher Yu Darvish worked in this cages Wednesday morning.He practiced his bunting after his second Cactus League start Tuesday.
