Matchup: Yu Darvish vs. C.J. Wilson

ANAHEIM, Calif. -- The second game of this three-game series is the pitching matchup most folks want to see. Rain spoiled it when the two clubs were in Arlington three weeks ago. But RHP Yu Darvish will take the mound against LHP C.J. Wilson, the man Darvish replaced in the Rangers' rotation at 9:05 p.m. on ESPN Dallas 103.3 FM and FSSW. A look:

Darvish (7-2, 3.25 ERA): This is his 11th start of his career and he comes into the game, leading the American League with seven wins. ... Darvish's 66 strikeouts are tied for sixth in the AL and his 35 walks are fourth. ... His 3.25 ERA is second among AL rookies and his 66 Ks tops the rookie charts. ... Darvish is 2-2 with a 3.10 ERA in five road starts and he'll be pitching with an extra day of rest thanks to Thursday's off day. ... He finished May with a 3-2 mark and a 4.50 ERA in five starts. That was more than double his April ERA of 2.18. ... Beat Wilson in his first career start against the Angels on May 11 in Arlington, coming back from a nearly two-hour rain delay to go 5 1/3 innings and give up three runs in the victory.

Wilson (6-4, 2.77 ERA): The lefty and California native has won two straight games, allowing just three hits and one run in 14 innings pitched (0.64 ERA). ... That snapped a streak of three winless starts (he was 0-2 in that stretch) where he didn't throw at least six innings. ... Technically, Wilson has started twice against the Rangers -- and in a span of two days. He started the rain-delayed game on May 11, but did not return. ... Wilson started the next day, allowing two runs on five hits with three walks and four strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings in the Angels' 4-2 win.

Hitters: The Angels were 3-for-19 off Darvish three weeks ago, but two of those hits were home runs -- Torii Hunter and Mike Trout. ... Mark Trumbo struck out in both of his at-bats. ... Current Rangers are hitting .302 off Wilson in their careers. ... Adrian Beltre is 9-for-23 with three doubles and a homer. ... Mike Napoli is just 4-for-19 with a homer and two RBIs.
