On Josh Hamilton's slump:
"You know right now I think I've seen Josh's approach at the plate is as poor as I've seen it since he's been here. He's in a funk, he just is in between, he's swinging at a lot of bad pitches and I'm certainly not the hitting coach so it wouldn't right for me to sit here and tell you what I think he ought to be doing but I think he's really out of sync right now and why that is I don't have the answer to that."
His reaction to the news that Hamilton's life story would be made into a feature film:
"Well that's the first one that I'm aware of so yeah I wasn't really thrilled with the timing."
His thoughts on Roy Oswalt's first start:
"I was very pleased with his performance. When I saw him pitch on Sunday night in Round Rock I felt like he would come up here and compete. I think he did, he stepped his game up. He was sharper here for us than he was in Round Rock so I thought that was very encouraging. I think he showed the competitor that he is and that he's going to do everything he can to keep you in the game and give you a chance to win."
