Who is the biggest surprise of the first half?

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Once the All-Star Game is over, the baseball world shifts to finishing the break and then heading toward the second half. But that gives us time to discuss the first half.

We'll be doing that for a few more days. Today's question: Who was the biggest Rangers surprise of the first half?

You've got some choices, but I'm taking Robbie Ross. The rookie surprised most by simply making the club, outdueling some veteran candidates and benefitting from injuries. He's taken advantage of the opportunity with an ERA under 1.00. He's a versatile bullpen piece and doesn't seem intimidated by any hitter. Of course, that will be put to the test even more as the playoffs gets closer.

Who would you pick as the biggest surprise? Is it Matt Harrison making the All-Star Game? What about Joe Nathan coming back to his dominant form? Maybe Yu Darvish earning 10 wins and making the adjustment quickly to the big leagues? Let us know in the comment section.
