KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- While some teams will spend part of Thursday working out in preparation for the second half, the Texas Rangers won't get going again until 2 p.m. Seattle time Friday at Safeco Field.
Just like last year, when they opened the second half in Seattle, the club will do some extra work prior to Friday's game. That way, players can enjoy as long a break as possible, and the All-Stars -- and that included eight players and the coaching staff -- can get a little time to relax, too.
The All-Stars took a charter to Kansas City after Sunday's game, but a few of them left straight from Kauffman Stadium to go home for a few days. They are allowed to meet the club in Seattle rather than take the charter late Thursday afternoon.
