How's Hamilton: Looking for a spark

It seems odd to suggest that a guy hitting .300 needs a spark, but Josh Hamilton hasn't had the same success the last two months that he did in April or May.

Hamilton was the AL player of the month in April and May. Those numbers:

April: .395, 9 HR, 23 RBIs, 17 Ks, 7 BBs, 1.182 OPS

May: .344, 12 HR, 32 RBIS, 22 Ks, 12 BBs, 1.186 OPS

But in June and July, he has not had anything close to that success. Those numbers:

June: .223, 4 HR, 16 RBIs, 35 Ks, 12 BBs, .754 OPS

July: .171, 3 HR, 5 RBIs, 11 Ks, 5 BBs, .661 OPS

Of course, there's still 11 games left in July and time for Hamilton to turn things around. He did have a hit in each of the games in Oakland, including a home run late in Tuesday's game. He was just 2-for-13 at Angel Stadium in the first series between the teams out there, but is 8-for-26 with three homers and six RBIs this season as a whole against the Angels' pitching staff in 2012.
