Colby Lewis placed on DL with tendinitis

ARLINGTON – Texas Rangers right-handed starter Colby Lewis was placed on the 15-day disabled list Monday with right forearm tendinitis. Martin Perez has been recalled and will start in Lewis’ place on Tuesday against the Boston Red Sox, assuming the 21-year-old isn’t needed out of the bullpen on Monday.

Lewis, 32, has dealt with the forearm discomfort since his loss to the Colorado Rockies on June 23. He was placed on the disabled list prior to the All-Star break, which was designed to give him a longer break to make sure the arm felt better.
