Craig Gentry has eventful game in CF

ARLINGTON, Texas -- It wasn't exactly a routine day for Craig Gentry in center field.

The speedster got the wind knocked out of him in the fifth after charging a fly ball and making the catch to end the inning. Gentry ran right into Ian Kinsler and both players were on the ground for a bit right after the collision. Kinsler got up and was OK, while Gentry stayed down for a little while to catch his breath.

"It’s an in-between play and I called it kind of late and not in time for him to get out of the way and I ran into him," said Gentry, who stayed in the game and led off the bottom of the inning.

In the top of the ninth, with the Rangers down by one run, Gentry scampered back to the wall and waited for a long fly ball off the bat of Joe Mauer. He timed his jump perfectly and took a home run away. It was the second home run he's taken away this season. According to ESPN Stats & Information, the only other player with more than one catch that has taken away a homer this season is Angels rookie Mike Trout, who's done it three times.

"It was barely going to go over," Gentry said. "I was able to get to get all set and get a good read on it. I was hoping it would start some momentum for that last inning, but it was a tough loss for us."
