ARLINGTON, Texas -- The Texas Rangers' paid attendance of 36,001 pushed the club to a total of 2,967,041 fans through 70 home dates. That's a new all-time record for the franchise, passing the 2,946,949 set in 2011.
But with 11 home dates left, the club will be able to build on the current mark. And tonight, they'll surpass 3 million fans. Texas will be the third team in the big leagues to reach three million this season, joining the Philadelphia Phillies and New York Yankees.
Capital One Bank is providing 40,000 Rangers T-shirts as fans enter Rangers Ballpark in Arlington tonight. One lucky fan attending tonight's game will be randomly selected as the club's three millionth fan."
The club said good seats remain for tonight's game. For the Seattle series this weekend, there are about 1,200 reserved seats left for Friday and Saturday and 1,000 for Sunday.
