Club helping with Cowboy Santas Toy Drive

The Texas Rangers announced Monday that they are involved in the Cowboy Santas Toy Drive with Derek Holland as the honorary spokesman for the second straight year.

The program provides toys to children from low-income families in Tarrant County during the holiday season. More from the club's official release here:

Beginning today and continuing through Thursday, Dec. 13, individuals can drop off new unwrapped toys or books at either the Texas Rangers Grand Slam Gift Shop at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington, Rangers Fort Worth Team Shop at 316 Main St., or the Rangers Dallas Team Shop at 2222 McKinney Ave., Suite 140 between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Items may also be dropped off at all Fort Worth Police and Fire Departments and Community Centers and at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden.

On Tuesday, Dec. 11 from 4:30 until 7:30 p.m., the Rangers will sponsor a Cowboy Santas Toy Drive Event at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington in the center field Vandergriff Plaza area. Holland, as well as other current and former Rangers players, will be on hand to sign autographs during this event. Local groups will perform holiday songs, holiday movies will be shown on the video screen, the Rangers KidsZone will be open, and drink and food specials will be available at Captain Morgan Club. Donations of new unwrapped toys and books will be greatly encouraged.

Fans attending the December 11 event may Park in Lot B and enter Rangers Ballpark in Arlington through the Majestic Grand Slam Gift Shop.

In addition, the Rangers and CBS 11/TXA21 will hold a Cowboy Santas Toy Drive Event near the Christmas tree at Main and 3rd Streets in downtown Fort Worth’s Sundance Square on Thursday, Dec. 13 from 4:30 until 7:30 p.m. Several current and former Rangers players will also be on hand to sign autographs during this event.
