Before the Texas Rangers arrive in Surprise, Ariz., for spring training, they'll have an injury report that is fairly lengthy when it comes to arms. The good news is that those rehabbing from surgery and injury are progressing and remain on track.
The headliners, of course, are Colby Lewis, Neftali Feliz and Joakim Soria. General manager Jon Daniels said there was nothing new to report on the trio, which means they are still on their paths. Feliz is likely behind Lewis and Soria, but all three are in rehab and working toward returning.
For Soria, that could be end of May or early June. Lewis could help the club in June or July, and Feliz, hopefully, can pitch in at some point this season. The timetables, of course, are subject to change. Matt West is also on that list. And Ramon Mendez also encountered arm issues -- a stress fracture to the tip of his elbow. Daniels said it was a similar injury to what Pedro Strop and Francisco Cordero went through earlier in their careers. Both returned from it. Mendez was diagnosed in October and is rehabbing in Arizona.
