Rangers finalize roster on Opening Day

HOUSTON -- The Texas Rangers made several moves Sunday to set their roster in advance of the opener.

The transactions include placing three pitchers on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to March 22 -- right-hander Colby Lewis (right flexor pronator surgery), right-hander Joakim Soria (Tommy John surgery) and left-hander Martin Perez (broken left wrist).

The Rangers also purchased the contracts of infielder Jeff Baker and right-hander Derek Lowe from Triple-A Round Rock. Infielder Brandon Allen has been released from Triple-A Round Rock.

Their are five players on the Opening Day roster for the first time: infielder Leury Garcia, outfielder Leonys Martin and pitchers Michael Kirkman, Joe Ortiz and Tanner Scheppers.

Here's the Rangers 2013 Opening Day roster:

Pitchers (11): Yu Darvish, Jason Frasor, Matt Harrison, Derek Holland, Kirkman, Derek Lowe, Joe Nathan, Alexi Ogando, Ortiz, Robbie Ross, Tanner Scheppers.

Catchers (2): A.J. Pierzynski, Geovany Soto.

Infielders (7): Elvis Andrus, Jeff Baker, Adrian Beltre, Lance Berkman, Leury Garcia, Ian Kinsler, Mitch Moreland.

Outfielders (5): Julio Borbon, Nelson Cruz, Craig Gentry, Leonys Martin, David Murphy.

Disabled list (4): Neftali Feliz (60-day), Lewis (15-day), Perez (15-day), Soria (15-day).
