Ogando's MRI shows no damage

ARLINGTON, Texas -- Alexi Ogando, placed on the 15-day disabled list Thursday because of biceps tendinitis, had an MRI exam done that showed no structural issues.

Ogando said he first felt the soreness in his start Wednesday at Oakland, when he came out after six innings. He had taken a no-hitter into the sixth.

"Why push something?" Ogando said through an interpreter. "Better to do something precautionary. I don't want it to get worse. I want it to get better."

Ogando said the issue has nothing to do with his conversion from the bullpen back to the rotation. He has pitched 49 2/3 innings this season after going 66 innings last season.

"It's the same deal," Ogando said of starting. "It's not a big difference at all."
