Rangers add Rios, option Joey Butler

HOUSTON -- The Texas Rangers added newly acquired outfielder Alex Rios to their 25-man roster on Saturday and optioned outfielder Joey Butler to Triple-A Round Rock.

Rios is expected to be in the Rangers' lineup for Saturday night's game against the Houston Astros. Texas acquired the 32-year-old Rios and cash considerations in a trade with the Chicago White Sox on Friday for a player to be named later or cash.

Rios is batting .277 with 12 home runs, 55 RBIs and 26 stolen bases in 109 games for Chicago this season.

Butler had two doubles in his first major league start on Friday in the Rangers' 9-5 victory over the Astros.
