David Freese (yeah, that guy) joins Angels

The Los Angeles Angels have a new third baseman, one that Texas Rangers fans will certainly recognize. David Freese, who helped the St. Louis Cardinals win the World Series over the Texas Rangers (especially with a couple of huge, late-game hits in Game 6, including the winning homer), will now get to see even more of Texas in 2014.

The Angels sent Peter Bourjos and outfield prospect Randal Grichuk to the Cardinals for Freese and reliever Fernando Salas. You can read all about the trade here.

Freese has 39 plate appearances in his career against the Rangers -- postseason and regular season -- and has a .333 batting average with six extra-base hits and seven RBIs.

Freese saw his numbers dip in 2013. He had a .262 average with nine homers (he had 20 the year before) and 60 RBIs (19 fewer than 2012).
