Rangers going back to 1994 prices

As part of alumni weekend where the Texas Rangers will induct former team president Tom Schieffer into the Texas Rangers Baseball Hall of Fame, the team will offer certain tickets and concessions at 1994 prices.

On Sunday, Aug. 24, the Rangers host the Kansas City Royals and will offer special prices in honor of the 20th anniversary of Globe Life Park in Arlington. Upper reserved tickets will be $9 and club terrace tickets will be $18. Nachos will cost $3.50, jumbo hot dogs $2.75 and a 24-ounce soda will go for $2.75.

Adults 21 and over will receive one voucher for a 16-ounce draught beer for the 1994 price of $3.50. Rangers officials say craft and bottle beer are not included in the deal.

Schieffer, a long-time executive with the Rangers, who played a significant role in building the ballpark in Arlington, will be inducted August 23. Game time has been moved to 7:25 p.m. CST.

Schieffer will be the 17th member inducted and sixth to enter in the "non-playing capacity." Johnny Oates (2003), Tom Vandergriff (2004), Mark Holtz (2005), Tom Grieve (2010) and Eric Nadel (2012) are also in the Rangers Hall of Fame in that category.
