Gm. 3-4 starters: Matt Harrison, Derek Holland

ST. LOUIS -- Matt Harrison will start Game 3 of the World Series, manager Ron Washington said Thursday. Derek Holland is slated for Game 4.

Washington said he didn't want to compare the two young left-handers, but felt that it was time to get Harrison back on the mound.

"Harrison has certainly given us a chance to win ballgames," Washington said.

Holland will be available out of the bullpen for tonight's Game 2.

Washington said he'd like to see Harrison one more inning than he has recently during the postseason. Harrison was 14-9 with a 3.39 ERA in 31 games (30 starts) in 185 2/3 innings pitched in 2011. In the postseason, Harrison is 1-0 with a 4.22 ERAin three games (two of those starts).

"I want him to pitch as deep as he possibly can and try to get us six or seven innings instead of five," Washington said.
