The Milwaukee Brewers have claimed infielder Joe Inglett off waivers on Wednesday from the Rangers. Texas designated the 31-year-old for assignment on Monday to make room on the 40-man roster for Colby Lewis.
Inglett was claimed by Texas off waivers from Toronto on Dec. 4. But once the Rangers signed Khalil Greene to be the utility infielder, Inglett became the odd man out.
Inglett hit .281 (in 99 at-bats) with four doubles and a triple in 36 games for the Blue Jays in 2009. He has a career .293 average in more than 200 games with Cleveland and Toronto.
