SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- The Rangers made a minor-league trade Friday, sending third baseman Johnny Whittleman to Kansas City for a player to be named later.
Whittleman was a second-round draft pick of the Rangers in 2005. He split the 2010 season between Double-A Frisco and Class A Bakersfield, hitting a combined .215 with 12 homers and 53 RBIs.
Whittleman, 24, is from Houston. He has played all or part of the last three seasons for Frisco.
