Rangers' trainer headed to All-Star Game

Perhaps no one needs a vacation more than Texas Rangers head athletic trainer Kevin Harmon. But the honor of serving as an athletic trainer at the All-Star Game next month at Target Field in Minnesota will prevent that, at least temporarily.

Maybe another way to look at it: Taking care of the healthy players at the All-Star Game might be a bit of a vacation compared to the first half of the 2014 season in Texas. Harmon and the training staff have been busy trying to nurse numerous players. Texas has used the disabled list a big-league high 19 times this season.

Harmon, who has been with the Rangers since the 2005 season, was named head athletic trainer this offseason as Jamie Reed was promoted to senior director of medical operations.
