ARLINGTON, Texas -- TCU ace Matt Purke is wearing a Texas Rangers cap. But, so are all of the TCU Horned Frogs.

The club is gathered on the field here at Rangers Ballpark where they'll be honored for their remarkable run to the College World Series. They're all dressed out in khaki shorts, purple TCU golf shirts and Rangers caps.

But, get this: Purke was wearing his Rangers hat straight-on. The caps the Rangers provided had such a curve to the bill that it was impossible for him to wear it slanted to the right, which has become his trademark and sparked plenty of talk on the College World Series broadcasts.

Purke was the Rangers' first-round draft pick last year, but the club's financial situation prevented it from matching Purke's salary demands. So the lefty took his dynamic stuff to Fort Worth and didn't lose a game (16-0) this season for TCU.

Frogs coach Jim Schlossnagle will throw out the first pitch.
