Jerry Jones likes Buehler situation

We can only take the Cowboys' word on David Buehler.

The media didn't see him kick a field goal last week. Any attempts that he had happened before minicamp practice was opened to reporters.

When we did see Buehler kick during OTAs, he was inconsistent. However, the Valley Ranch decision-makers say they're encouraged by Buehler's development after months working with kicking consultant Chris Boniol.

"I like what’s happening with Buehler," Jerry Jones said. "I like the direction. Is that something I don’t think about? It is something I think about, but I like the way it’s going. Joe [DeCamillis], Wade [Phillips], we think he’s ahead of where we thought he’d be."

Buehler ranks at the top of the charts when it comes to leg strength and work ethic. His direction? The Cowboys are crossing their fingers that it's not wide right or wide left too often.

The only sure thing when it comes to the Cowboys' placekicker situation is that Buehler will get all summer to prove he can handle the job.
