Will Njokuani make Octagon debut at UFC 128?

ESPNDallas.com MMA blogger Anthony Njokuani (13-4), a native of Garland, is rumored to be fighting Edson Barboza (25-3) at UFC 128 scheduled for March 19.

Njokuani, a fan-favorite in the DFW market, fought on the Texas circuit for many years prior to his WEC debut in 2009. The talented fighter, who has a very prominent stand-up game, was trained by Muay Thai legend and local gym owner, Saekson Janjira.

Now that the WEC has officially been dissolved into the UFC, the 30-year-old mixed martial artist will finally have his opportunity to clash with the best lightweights in the world while representing the Dallas–Fort Worth MMA scene at the same time.

When contacted by ESPNDallas.com about the potential bout, Njokuani indicated he was aware of the recent rumor, but was unable to officially confirm it at this time.

Whether it’s a slug-fest against fellow Muay Thai specialist, Barboza, or an alternative match-up with another one of the talented UFC 155 pounders, it’s likely that "The Assassin" will make his UFC debut sometime this spring.
