Former UFC and Pride vet featured at XKO 7

Edwynn "Ox" Jones, recently profiled by ESPN Dallas will face former UFC and Pride fighter Anthony "Mad Dog" Macias in the main event of Xtreme Knockout 7.

The 30-year old Jones has a record of 6-14 and is hoping that a win against an experienced fighter like Macias will provide him with the opportunity to participate in bigger shows.

Macias, who turns 41 next month, fought for the UFC back in the mid-90s participating in both UFC 4 and 6. The Oklahoma native also spent time in Japan fighting for Pride FC. He’s matched up against a variety of high-level opponents in his career and will be an extremely tough match for Jones, the one-dimensional striker who has fought professionally for only 22 months.

Will youth and strength win out over experience and technique? We’ll find out Saturday night, but my money is on experience.

In addition to the eight fights on the card, Xtreme Knockout will be providing fans with additional sources of entertainment throughout the night. A pre-fight party featuring the band Egress will kick off at 6pm. A bikini contest and MMA vendor booths will also be available to keep fans occupied between fights. As a bonus, former Cowboy great Randy White will also be making an appearance.

XKO does an exceptional job at providing spectators with a fun, unique experience at their events that is unmatched by other promotions in the area. Saturday looks to be no exception.

XKO 7 will take place June 5 at “The Gym” in Arlington. Fights start at 8 p.m. Ticket information can be found at xtremeknockout.com.
