FORT WORTH, Texas -- The IndyCar Series will wave the green flag around 8 p.m. tonight for the Firestone 550. A few things to watch:
* Will there be pack racing? The series has made changes to the packages on the cars in an effort to spread them out on ovals. If practice is any indication, we should not see much pack racing and the drivers seemed pleased about the setup. But practice isn't race conditions. So we'll see.
* Slingshot passing. We saw it in the Indy 500 as cars could use the draft to pass each other on the long straightaways. Will that continue here?
* Dario Franchitti. He's the Indy 500 champion and said he was uncomfortable being at a track this size again. But he's got the car to win this race and won one of the two races at TMS last year.
* Alex Tagliani. For the second straight year, Tagliani won a pole in Texas. But can he turn that into a win? The last driver to win from the pole at TMS was Ryan Briscoe in 2010. Danica Patrick finished second that year.
