Dallas Stars forward Loui Eriksson, who suffered a groin injury in Sweden’s World Championship game on Wednesday, skated this morning and is questionable for today’s qualification round game against France.
“He thinks it feels good, but he still senses it a bit,” team doctor Peter Strom told Expressen. “It is much better than one would expect … a day of rest can do wonders.”
Eriksson was injured when he got tangled up with Team USA defensemen Mark Stuart and Mike Komisarek in front of the U.S. net in Sweden’s 6-2 victory. Sweden coach Pars Mart said the team will be cautious.
“We’ll see [if he plays today],” Mart told Expressen. “We do not want to take any chances.”
Stars defenseman Nicklas Grossman, who missed the last game with a knee injury, did not skate today. He worked out off the ice. He is day-to-day.
