Stars grab 2-1 lead after one

Steve Ott just scored again to give the Stars a 2-1 lead, and he won't get an easier goal than this one. Loui Eriksson passed to Nicklas Grossman in the slot, and Grossman fooled the Flyers by passing up the shot and instead sliding a pass to Ott for a slam-dunk goal.

The Stars' passing tonight is really crisp. Both goals were things of beauty, and they're also doing a good job working the puck out of their zone and through the neutral zone. It's the same type of skill we saw Tuesday when they scored eight goals.

In between Ott's goals, the Flyers scored a gritty goal by Simon Gagne. The puck was loose in front of the Dallas net, and Gagne outdueled Trevor Daley to get the puck and flip it over Lehtonen.

That's the end of the first period. Shots are 14-12 in favor of Philadelphia, but that's only because some of the Stars' best scoring chances have sailed wide of the net. The Stars are playing well and coach Marc Crawford should have few complaints when he talks to the team in the locker room.
