And just like that, the Stars regain the lead.
A pair of goals by Brad Richards and Jamie Benn in the final 3:23 turned a one-goal deficit into a 4-3 lead.
Richards' goal was his second of the game. It was nice teamwork between Richards and lineman Loui Eriksson, who had the assist on a nice pass after he picked up the rebound of his own blocked shot. Goalie Pascal Leclaire dropped down to stop Eriksson's shot and couldn't get back up to stop Richards' shot to the top of the net.
The Stars then went on the power play and scored on a perfect pass from James Neal to Benn, who slipped it past Leclaire with 52.9 seconds left in the second period.
That was a sudden turn of events. The Senators had dominated most of the period, but a couple of defensive breakdowns turned into two Stars goals.
Neither goalie or defense has been successful today. First team to score six goals wins.
