Nicklas Grossman to play; Adam Pardy still out

DALLAS -- Defenseman Nicklas Grossman, who missed the first three games with a groin injury, will return to the lineup tonight as the Dallas Stars take on the St. Louis Blues at American Airlines Center.

"I feel good to go. The body feels good," said Grossman. "It's been a little frustrating missing out the first couple games. You prepare all summer for it and then you can't be in on the opener. I tried to do everything to be ready and it feels good now."

Grossman skated with Trevor Daley this morning. Sheldon Souray was paired with Stephane Robidas and Alex Goligoski and Mark Fistric were the other pair.

Adam Pardy, who has yet to play this season due to a rib injury, will not play tonight. He could possibly return Saturday, according to Stars coach Glen Gulutzan.

Krys Barch, who has been a healthy scratch the first three games, will be in the lineup tonight. He skated with Jake Dowell and Toby Petersen on the fourth line this morning.

"We thought he had a great preseason," Gulutzan said of Barch. "He's going to come in tonight to give us some size and strength. St. Louis is a big, strong team, so he'll come in tonight."

With Barch in it looks like newly acquired left wing Eric Nystrom and Tom Wandell will be the scratches at forward. Philip Larsen appeared to be the healthy scratch on defense and Pardy remains on IR.

Nystrom took part in this morning's skate at the AAC and is pumped about the trade to the Stars.

"I am so looking forward to it," said Nystrom, who will be wearing No. 24 with the Stars. "This situation arose because of the way things work out. I didn't fit in in Minnesota and there was a situation here that gave me an opportunity, so all I can do is take advantage of it."

Gulutzan said Nystrom could play Saturday.

Kari Lehtonen in goal tonight.
