Hats fly as Ott scores Nos. 2-3

Steve Ott scored back-to-back goals in the final two minutes of the second period to give Dallas a 5-1 lead. The Stars continue to have the Sharks' number.

Combined with his first-period short-handed goal, Ott's goals give him a hat trick for the game and five goals in his last two games against San Jose. Quite an offensive explosion for a player known much more for his grit. Ott now has 19 goals for the season, tied with Jamie Benn for fourth on the team.

Ott's two second-period goals were similar. The first came when Ott redirected in a pass from Brent Sutherby, who was absolutely laid out by San Jose's Doug Murray. Then, a minute later, Neal threw a pass in front, and Ott tipped it up and over the shoulder of Evgeni Nabokov. That goal came on the power play, giving Ott a shorty, an even-strength and a power-play goal all in the same game.
